The work
The journey toward Awakening from Shadows did not begin with a publishing plan. It began with lived difficulty — the kind that forces a person to look inward or continue repeating the same painful patterns.
Martina chose to look inward. The book chronicles that process with rare honesty: how emotional patterns form, often in formative years, and how they embed themselves so deeply in daily behavior that they become invisible to the person carrying them.
The invitation is to slow down, pay attention, and recognize those patterns for what they are — not permanent features of identity, but learned responses that can be understood, challenged, and ultimately released.
Alongside the writing, she makes intuitive charcoal sketches. They are not planned. The hand moves in response to something underneath, and the image arrives. The medium has a rawness that mirrors the prose. Together they are one body of work: making the unconscious conscious.
Art and writing are both ways of making the invisible visible.
Shadow work, in her hands, is not a promise of overnight change. It is a framework for ongoing self-inquiry that respects how long it takes to shift what has been entrenched. The Two-Day Introduction is the first sitting. The book is the longer walk.
